Welcome to our first addition of; * Cannabinoid Friday * Today we will review the ever famous and sometimes infamous THC. This misunderstood molecule□ has been portrayed in films like "Up in Smoke", and "Reefer Madness". * Today we hope to shed some light on this molecule and the healing properties it posseses. * THC was discovered □ by Raphael Mechoulam in 1969. * THC is the compound most often associated with marijuana. It is one of the most prevalent cannabinoids found in the plant — sometimes occurring at concentrations up to 30%. * Apart from being psychoactive, THC has many other effects. One of its most well-known benefits is its ability to reduce nausea and vomiting □. * THC will also bind with CB2 receptors located outside of our central nervous system in places like our immune system, respiratory system and our skin. CB2 receptors produce no euphoria aka "high", but do allow for medicinal benefits from THC like anti-inflammation. * Side effects of THC include an increased heart rate□ , bloodshot eyes□, dry mouth, dizziness, sedation, as well as cognitive and motor impairments. * The medicinal applications for THC are undeniable. As a result, pharmaceutical □companies are now creating synthetic versions of THC to treat patients who suffer from conditions THC has shown to treat. * Why is it necessary for man to synthesize what mother nature has already perfected□□□‍♀️ * Contact us □□today to be matched with a Cannabis Care Consultant and begin your personalized cannabis journey! * Follow us on Facebook and Twitter! @CannaHealthandWellness *
